Artists

Juneau is the Northwest Coast arts capital of the world. To that end, the institute sponsors programs to support artists, perpetuate ancient art forms, and educate the public about Northwest Coast arts. SHI’s goal is to designate Northwest Coast arts as a national treasure.

  3. Artist Residencies

    SHI operates an artist-in-residence study room at the Walter Soboleff Building and hosts resident artists at its Atnané Hít (Sealaska Heritage Arts Campus) to encourage the study of Northwest Coast art.
